Lucy Wang graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts in Taipei, Taiwan and studied with several master artists. She has taught Chinese brush painting for over 40 years including the University of California, San Diego Craft Center (1996-2011) and currently teaching at her studio in Spanish Village. Her work was published on numerous magazine covers and her monthly educational television program, “The Magic of Chinese Brush Painting”, broadcasted on several local cable television stations as well (1998-2001). Furthermore, her books, Chinese Brush Painting, How to Draw and Paint Watercolor, Chinese Brush Painting Kit, and The Art of Chinese Painting are published and distributed worldwide by Walter Foster Publishing, Inc. She blended her Chinese painting background and the influence of western painting techniques to develop an innovative style of three-dimensional watercolor on silk. This new style later received national recognition in “Lynette Jennings, Design” on the Discovery Channel and in “Our Place” on Home and Garden TV.Lucy Wang exhibits her work at Spanish Village, Balboa Park, San Diego. Her art works were selected by National Audubon Society, National Geographic Society, Smithsonian, and UNICEF for holiday cards.
