Rhea’s skills with watercolor, acrylics, ink and pencil have led her to focus on creating Southwest art pieces with feathers. She is able to paint any wild life, domestic animal, raptor, or sea life on one or more feathers and create an art piece that will bring nature into your home. She also creates hand painted feather earrings, necklaces, & bookmarkers. Rhea has painted over 45 years and taken many art classes, but she cannot say she is a self-taught artist as she believes all talent and gifts are from God.Rhea King’s education in the Sciences and Health Care has given her an appreciation of life and kept her focused on God’s creation that, “In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” (Job 12:10). Her parents love for plants, animals, nature, and the out-doors developed a passion in Rhea to express herself with paints. Cherokee family history told by her grandmother has inspired Rhea to focus on this Native American art form. She is an avid Equestrian; loves her dogs, grandchildren, and has traveled to Cuba on several mission trips to rural, poverty areas where medical care is nonexistentRhea’s studio is in Lakeside and she has shipped pieces throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Her work is also displayed on face book: On Wings of Birds.
