Rosario Wilke born in Bolivia is a self-thought and an accomplished fine artist/instructor. She has been teaching for over twelve years.
She is well-known for her fanciful decorative dolls and vessels which incorporate unique sculptural forms and bold decorative features.
Her pieces are distinctive for being one of a kind from contemporary to southwest style and her work is recognizable because of the different carving techniques she employs and her use of copper; copper accents, copper tubing, copper wire and/or copper shards which she torches one piece at the time for each individual project.
Her designs are created using pyrography (wood burning technique). She incorporates in her work natural fibers, glass, precious stones or semi-precious stones like turquoise, jade, coral, opal, etc. Each piece is truly a work of art and no two pieces are exactly alike.
